it's been a while
i know i shouldn't have kept you waiting
but i'm here now

well y'all it's been two years since i've made vaporwave. decided to keep this one decidedly classic-style as I relearn how to, uhm well, use a computer again. consider it an etude in classical vaporwave in 2017, take it as dramatic/thematic sound collage, view it as a diverse sample study, receive it as a the product of a rather interesting two years, understand that i'm still me, and realize that it's all good fun

it's divided into 3 sections (i don't really think they're songs, since there's a lot of "songs" in each section, but they're certainly distinct movements)

Valet Girl's Reflection (7/27/18)

I love every release in my discography, but there's always something so special about "rapture." Created during the month after I had returned home from a religious mission, I wanted to get back into the groove of things and pick up with that sweet vaporpop again. I wanted something that sounded as optimistic and adventurous as the experience it is based on was.

I relied heavily on sample choice in my return to production. It keeps the sound basic overall, but there's a catchiness that makes me revisit this little mixtape EP a lot.

In the canon of what I've done so far, I'm not sure where it ranks, but to me, it will always remain a poptimist time capsule.
